
"About the Founder"
Lorena Young-Knight is the mother of three adult children and a recent widow who relocated from New York to Texas. Guided by her faith, she takes strength from her belief in God. As a dedicated Navy and Army mom and devoted grandmother, her family exemplifies the values and legacy she instilled in them.
For over two decades, Lorena served as a licensed foster parent in New York, opening her home to children in need and watching many go on to lead successful lives. She also cared for her aging parents until her mother passed away from lung cancer in 2020 and tragically lost her husband to COVID-19 less than a month later. Lorena continues mentoring men, women, and children through sharing her own experiences to build trust and encourage personal growth. Today, Lorena’s vision is to empower individuals from all walks of life. She remains active in community programs that promote education and self-esteem. With a humble, caring, and fun-loving spirit, Lorena guides others toward self-reliance by helping them. With a deep commitment to empowerment and advocacy, Lorena actively seeks collaboration with organizations, community leaders, and fellow advocates to expand the impact of Pain to Power. She believes that even in the darkest moments, there is always a path forward, and she dedicates her work to helping others find turning pain into power, and challenges into triumphs.
Lorena Young as the founder and CEO of Pain to Power is, currently located in the State of Texas. Lorena is heard saying: “God doesn’t allow us to go through things just for ourselves” and has made it a goal to turn pain into power by helping many to make their pain a strength. This powerful inspiration set Lorena into motion to create and establish "Pain to Power".
